The Poetry of Song: Theme-Genre Declarations
Submit, as a comment to this post, a short paragraph containing your declaration of theme-genre and your reasoning for your decision.
My theme-genre is going to be... Emotions in Alternative/Pop.
I chose this because I like listening to these two genres but also because I like the way the artists get the emotions they are feeling across as well as the way the explain how they are feeling.
My Theme/genre is going to be Emotions in Metal, Rock, and Punk because I like a lot of different bands and pretty much all of them are in these three genres. Most of the songs I like also have emotion whether it be love, hate, happiness, depression ect.
My Theme-Genre will be nonconformity in foreign music.
Everybody knows about Smells like teen spirit, War: what is it good for, What are we fighting for, and a lot of famous american nonconformity in music. But given how much we produced other nations must have fallowed that same trend at some point and I'm curious to see what they got.
The theme-genre that I've chosen is Lovesongs in the 2000's. I chose this because in the 21st century, there have been many of this type of song and I am aware of many of them, making it a fun theme to explore further.

My theme-genre combination will be Affection in the 21st Century British Invasion.
Affection provides a wider range of song choices verses the typical "love". Also, while I was thinking of possible genres I could pair with my theme, I began thinking of the Grammys for inspiration, and then the Brits awards show. I then realized mainly the music I listen to, many various genres, all spawn from British artists.
My theme-genre combination is going to Growing Up in Pop Punk.
I like both genres of music, especially when bands choose to incorporate both styles of music in their songs. The theme of growing up and the experiences it comes with is frequent subject used in songs of both genres.
my theme-genre will be love in indie-pop I chose this because indie-pop is one of my favorite genres and I will not be limited due to the massive amount of love songs
The theme-genre I will be choosing is Love and Heartbreak in Indie. I am choosing this theme because I love listening to indie music and there is a wide range of songs about this particular theme, so I won't have just a limited selection.
I think I will choose Romantic Tragedy through pop and country music. For this I can use songs from Keith Urban, Taylor Swift, Greg Bates, and also Emilee Sandie.
