In response to Ian Mallor, Shakespeare forshadows Romeo's eventual death when Juliet said, "Methinks I see thee, now thou art so low, As one dead in the bottom of a tomb". This shows Romeo's eventual death because she is saying that she thinks she is seeing Romeo in the bottom of a tomb and he is dead.

Romeo's relationshipwith friar lawrence and juliets relationship with the nurse are very simalar. The nurse is like a mother to juliet she has raised her since she was a baby. This makes them very close juliet tells the nurse things she cant even tell her family like her wedding. It is almost like juliet is closer to the nurse than she is with her mom. Romeo has the same type of relationship with friar lawrence. Where did romeo go after he was exiled from verona? He went to friar lawrence not his family. So all in all romeo' relationship with the friar and juliet's relationship with the nurdsre basically the same

Shkespeare in the first page of the play tells you romeo and juliet are going to commit suicide. Some people might think this ruins the whole play because shakespear spoils the ending. But this actually makes the play more interesting because if you know when that the main characters are going to die you are always wondering what might kill them. For example when friar lawrence gives juliet the potion that is supposed to make her appear dead you think well maybe well maybe this is what kills her. It just makes you more active in the play if you know whats going to happen to some extent.

In response of Cam Hale,"But soft, what light through yonder window breaks? It is the East and Juliet is the sun." The imagery I get after reading that is seeing the sunrise. This means that Juliet is like the sun to Romeo. Today this would mean that he loves her more than anything else.

Responding to Natalie Tarrie's question: "What is the foreshadowing that Shakespeare uses at the beginning of the play to tell the fate of young Romeo and Juliet?"

In the Chorus it says, "A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life." Meaning that they are meant to be together from the begining.

In response to Taryn K's question: "Compare and contrast Romeo's relationship with Friar Lawrence and Juliet's with the Nurse. How are they alike? How are they different?"

Romeo's relationship with Friar Lawrence is that he goes to him for help and same with Juliet and the Nurse. They are different because the Nurse is there to help Juliet and it is her job. When Friar Lawrence helps Romeo by marrying him and Juliet it's going behind both the families.

In response to Taryn K.'s question- Romeo and Friar Lawrence have a relationship that is very similar to the relationship that Juliet and the Nurse have. How does Shakespeare's dialogue between Romeo and Juliet show their affection for each other? And how does it relate to young couples' love today?

In the play they use words of "love" and vow to be true to one another. Their love does not keep them apart even though their parents are enemies. Today young couples would not have a problem going against their parents. They would still speak of love and commitment.

In response to my question: "Describe the conflict between Tybalt and Mercutio. What is the outcome of the fight for both of them and Romeo?"

The conflict between Tybalt and Mercutio is that Romeo is trying to be nice to Tybalt and express that he loves him but Tybalt takes this as an insult. Mercutio doesn't understand why Romeo is doing this and says that he will fight Tybalt himself instead of Romeo. Romeo tries to stop them from fighting but Tybalt stabs Mercutio under Romeo's arm and he dies. Romeo is so mad that he kills Tybalt. The prince then exiles Romeo.

In response to Cassie Scanlan, I would foreshadow that something bad will happen. I think this because Romeo had just married Juliet then he kills her cousin. Also Tybalt was now related to Romeo so he killed his own relative. Also Romeo might be set to death or exiled. This could be bad because either way Romeo and Juliet wouldn't be together anymore.

In response to Kim Schubert's question- The dialogue in the novel is very sophisticated, yet it shows that the couple love each other, for example the quote "It is the East and Juliet is the Sun," is saying that Juliet is something to look forward to and that she is great like the sun. This dialogue relates to young couples' love because like Shakespeare's stories of love, modern day couples are like this in some ways. While the dialogue might not be as sophisticated, the love is still the same.

In response to Brianne Eagar's question: "Explain the characteristics of Paris and Romeo. How are they alike and how are they different? Do they both feel the same way for Juliet?

Paris and Romeo are both in love with Juliet, but for different reasons. Paris doesn't seem to love Juliet for more then her beauty. On the other hand, Romeo loves everything about her. He loves everthing she does and he can't live without her. Paris is loved by her family but Romeo is hated by her family.

Rome doesnt want to fight with tybalt and wants to tell him that romeo loves him now, even though only because they are brothers now. tybalt feels that rome is mocking him and that enrages tybalt even more so that no one can reason with him. mercutio feels that romeo is acting cowardly so he takes up the fight with tybalt. romeo doesnt want the two to fight and trys to stop them and as a result, tybalt stabs and kills mercutio. romeo is furious that tybalt would do that and sadden that mercutio would curse his own friend so romeo takes revenge on tybalt.

Romeo's relationship with Friar Lawrence is a very strong one. Romeo trusts Friar Lawrence with his thoughts and life basically, but most important, he trusts him with knowing that he is in love with Juliet, an enemy to the family. Juliet also has a very strong relationship with the Nurse. The Nurse also knows about Juliet and Romeo's relationship, and Juliet trusts her with that knowledge. The relationships are very similar.

In response to Kim Schuberts comment, Shakespeare shows the love in Romeo and Juliets dialogue by comparing things to nature or personifying them. During act 2 scene 2, Romeo an Juliet go through a series of saying goodbye and then talking agan and then leaving and then coming back, and so on, because they dont want to leave eachothers presence. This is like couples today when they are talking on the phone and neither person wants to hang up because they never want to say goodbye.

Juilet and the Nurse is extremely close. one way you can tell is the comfortablility between the nurse and juliet (or the tolerance) when the nurse cracks her inappropriate jokes, as in 2:6:81 " But you shall bear the burden soon at night". another sign that the teo of them are close is the way that juliet is completely comfortable in comfiding in the nurse. an example of this is 3:2:99- 100 when juliet says "Blister be thy tongue for such a wish! he was not born to shame." normally, if juliet said that to her parents or family, they would have been astounded and even furious.

Identify and describe Shakespeare's use of imagery that is suggestive of the idea of predestination

in responce to Tyler D.

one example of shakespeare's use of imagery to protray predestination is the scene after romeo and juliet had spent the night together and romeo was leaving verona to leave for mantua. it was at this point that shakespeare painted the image of romeo being dead (3:5:54-57) said by juliet, " O God, I have an ill-divining soul! Methinks.... thou lookest pale".

in responce to Megan E.

juliet's father and mother say that they have found a man for which she will marry. juliet flatly refuses to marry paris, saying that she would rather die than marry paris (3:5:211-213) " delay this marriage for a month, a week, or if you do not, make the bridal bed in that dim monument where tybalt lies."

another scene of forshadowing is before Juliet's mother comes in and her mother announces that juliet is to marry. (3:5:98-100)
" indeed i will never be satisfiedwith romeo till i behold him -dead- is my poor heart, for a kinsman vexed."

The relationship of Romeo with Friar Lawrence and the relationship of Juliet and the nurse are very similar. They are similar because Friar Lawrence and the nurse are the only people Romeo and Juliet confide in. Friar Lawrence is like a father or close friend to Romeo, as the nurse is like a mother or close friend to Juliet. Also, Friar Lawrence and the nurse were the only people who knew about Romeo and Juliet's wedding. The relationships are different, however, because Friar Lawrence and the nurse have different personalities. The nurse is a little rude and uneducated, while Friar Lawrence is very wise and nice.

The conflict between Mercuccio and Tybalt is all because of Romeo and the hatred between the two houses. Tybalt hates Romeo because he is a Montague. When Tybalt sees Romeo after his wedding, he wants to attack him. Because Romeo is now in Tybalt's family, he tries to be peaceful. Because of this, Mercuccio gets mad and ends up fighting Tybalt. At the end of the fight, Tybalt kills Mercuccio. Then Romeo avenges Mercuccio by killing Tybalt. Because of these events, Romeo gets exiled from Verona.

Shakespeare changes the character of Mercutio drastically when he is dying. Throughout the story, Mercutio is a happy person that jokes around a lot and likes to have fun. He always brightened the mood. However, after Tybalt stabbed him, Mercutio changes completely. Now he is full of hate not only for the enemy, but for his best friend. He is very mad that because the two families hate each other and Romeo tried to break up the fight, he was going to die. He goes far enough to say, "A curse to both your houses." By this, he meant that everyone in both families should be cursed for what had happened to him.

I forsee that Romeo and Juliet's relationship will suffer from the reactions of Romeo killing Tybalt, but not disapear. I predict that Juliet will be upset, but Romeo will tell her what happened and be forgiven. Then, the two will not be able to see eachother much because not only was Romeo exiled, but the whole Capulet family wants to kill him. Because of all this and the hints Shakespeare has been giving, I predict that something ultimately tragic will happen and the two will not be able to live a very happy life together.

I believe that Shakespeare did not go through the whole wedding of Romeo and Juliet because something secret happened during it. By saying this, Mercutio means that the Montague and Capulet families should be cursed. He said this because they brought upon his death. Tybalt, from the Capulet family, contributed by wanting to fight and starting the fight, and Romeo, of the Montague family, brought upon Mercutios death by not fighting Tybalt himself and trying to break up the fight, giving Tybalt the chance to kill Mercutio. I think that after hearing his friend say this, Romeo will avenge Mercutio's death by killing Tybalt.

Shakespeare uses foreshadowing alot to keep the audience interested in the play, especially the uneducated people who go. To keep it interesting, Shakespeare foreshawadows death in the very beginning of the play in the prologue where he says, "A pair of star-crossed lovers will take their life; whose misadventured piteous overthrows doth with their death bury their parents' strife." "Shakespeare's dramatic structure that consists of comedy and tragedy is often followed by a heightened tension of the storyline, do you think Shakespeare will resolve this method with a big ending (like the beggining suggests)or leave a cliffhanger to inspire the auidance to want more?"

I think Shakespeare will finish the book a big ending because the beginning of the book tells how in the end Romeo and Juliet will die, and I think there will be more cliffhangers to make the audience want more before the ending.

"Describe the conflict between Tybalt and Mercutio. What is the outcome of the fight for both of them and Romeo?"

The conflict between Tybalt and Mercutio is Mercutio doesn't want to see Tybalt push Romeo around because Romeo refuses to fight back so Mercutio decides to get involved. Also, because they are enemies. The result of the fight is that Mercutio is killed by Tybalt, Tybalt is killed by Romeo, and Romeo is banished from Verona.

In response to Alex D..
"What is the relationship between the nurse and Juliet? What example of dialoge helps you answere the question?"

The relationship between the nurse and Juliet is very strong. There is no exact dialogue that really shows their strong relationship, just the the actions that take place. One action that show they have a strong relationship is when Juliet trust the nurse knowing her love for romeo. This shows a strong relationship because the Capulets and Montagues are feuding families, and if anyone were to know of their love, it would be chaos. Another action that shows their relationship is strong is when the nurse goes and talks to Romeo about the wedding. This is a good example of showing their strong relationship because the nurse is helping Juliet with her relationship with Romeo even thought she knows very well not to.

responding to Kristy C...
"Describe what Romeo means when he speaks to Tybalt where the fight begins. What is Romeo trying to get across to Tybalt? What does Tybalt feel Romeo is trying to do? How does this lead to the deaths of Mercutio and Tybalt?"

Romeo means that he loves Tybalt because he is married to his cousin Juliet. Even thought he does not know of this, he still feels because Juliet is his wife he shall not hurt her family in anyway. Romeo is trying to tell Tybalt he doesn't want to fight him or hurt him in any way because of his love for his cousin (Tybalt does not know for that reason, but that is the reason Romeo does not want to hurt Tybalt). Tybalt feels romeo is trying to make fun of him or mock him. This leads to the death of Mercutio because Romeo refuses to fight back and Mercutio doesn't want to see Tybalt push Romeo around. Romeo tries to stop this, but Tybalt kills Mercutio. Since Tybalt killed Mercutio, out of rage Romeo went and fought Tybalt. Romeo made it clear that tybalt, him, or both of them would die because of the death of Mercutio. They fought, and in the end Tybalt was slain by Romeo.

I don't believe that love at first sight really exist, but I do believe that you can feel sort of a passion towards someone. I don't believe love at first sight exists because love isn't just something that happens istantly, it takes time.

In response to Hailey C...
"Why do you think Romeo stabbed Tybalt, even though they're related?"

I think Romeo stabbed out of rage for Mercutio's death. Mercutio was like a brother to Romeo, and once Tybalt killed Mercutio, Romeo wasn't even thinking about the fact he was not related to Tybalt.

In response to Chris W...
"How do Romeo's and Friar Lawerence's relationship compare to the relationship between Juilet's and the nurses? but also, how do they differ?"

The relationship between Romeo and Friar Lawrence and Juliet and the nurse are similar because Friar Lawrence is like a mentor to Romeo, and the nurse is a mentor to Juliet. Also, Friar Lawrence and the nurse are like Romeo and Juliet's best friends pretty much. I don't find really any difference between them.

Shakespeare told the exposition of the story before it began because he wanted the audience or reader to form interest in how or why the story unfolds the way it does. Also to discover what the true meaning of "star-crossed lovers".

Juliet's parents tell her that she is going to marry Paris in a few days... not knowing that she is secretly married to Romeo. One example of foreshadowing in this scene is when Juliet cries "I pray you, tell my lord and father, madam, I will not marry yet, and when I do I swear it shall be Romeo, whom you know i hate, rather than Paris." This foreshadows the marriage between Juliet and Paris the coming Thursday, and how Juliet will try and prevent it.

I think Shakespeare will end "Romeo and Juliet" with a big, stunning ending, like said in the beginning. The ending will both be entertaining for the educated and non-eduacated, containing death and blood, and romance. Shakespeare will end the play with a great conclusion, maybe sad, but great.

I predict that Shakespeare will leave the audience with a big ending. I predict that Juliet will commit suicide or be killed like Shakespeare suggests in the beginnnig of the book. I predict that because Shakespeare always leaves off with a heightened tension. I also do not believe that Shakespeare would leave off with a cliffhanger because i do not think that he would have planned on doing a sequel to any of his books. I also do not believe he would have left the sudience off with a cliffhanger because he even told us at the beginning of the book that Romeo and Juliet would die. So i think that he wanted people to know what would happen and to be prepared for the ending.

In the beginning of the book the chorus tells the reader that romeo and juliet will die but never says how or when they will throught the story. The dialogue between Romeo and Juliet is romantic throughout the play, since they first met. The love they share seems stronger than anything compared to now a day, where Romeo and Juliet would die for eachother. In modern day, i have not heard of lot as stong as Romeo and Juliet's feelings. "Th' exchange of thy love's faithful vow for mine." Romeo thoughtfully says to Juliet trying to confess his dearest love to her.

The imagery in the scene in which Mercutio and Tybalt both died was very strong. Tybalt and Mercutio are rivals. They come from rival families and hate eachother with an increasing passion. The two never get along and never will. In the fight between the two, Mercutio and Tybalt both end up dead, Mercutio getting stabbed by Tybalt and Tybalt getting stabbed by Romeo. Romeo is trying to tell Tybalt that he loves him, but Tybalt can not beleive him and thinks he is trying to fool him. Romeo was completely serious, now that they are related, but could not tell Tybalt why he suddenly loved him. This lead to a huge conflict between the families, with Romeo caught in the middle. Mercutio and Tybalt start fighting, while Rmeo tries to stop it. Doing so, Mercutio is left vulnerable and is stabbed, eventually leading to his death. Romeo took the death crtitically and stabbed Tybalt to get revenge.

When they got into a sword fight, when Romeo was trying to break up the fight, Tybalt got a clean stab in to Mercutio who was distracted. Ryan Consentino responding to

Brandon Deal:

Tybalt's death will greatly affect Juliet. It will make her love Romeo more because she will feel that she lost something. She may also be very sad because of his death.

Ryan consentino responding to

Natalie Tarrie:

Shakespeare uses an important quote to show Romeo and Juliet's eventual death. This is "a pair of star crossed lovers thake their lives". This shows that they will both kill themselves for their love.

Ryan Consentino responding to

Anthony B:

Shakespear caused Mercutio to change as he dies. He becomes more bitter and says " a plague on both your houses" meaning to curse the Montagues and the Capulets.

Responding to Kim Lynch:

When Romeo and Juliet get married it is in Friar Lawrence's cell. It is a secret wedding so there is nobody else there besides the three of them. Before Friar weds them though he gives a long speech.

Responding to Lindsay Garrone:

I think that Juliet may get mad at Romeo for killing someone who she loved. Also, Romeo may get mad at Juliet's family for Tybalt killing a member of his family. After this thouhg they will be back to loving each other.

Responding to Alex Devolve:

Juliet and the nurse have a very strong relationship. Juliet trusts the nurse and tells her everything. She also acts like amother to Juliet. The nurse cares for Juliet very well. The quote that helps me is when Juliet calls the nurse honest and says " honest nurse farewell".

Ryan Consentino responding to Sam Gaglio's question

I interpret this quote as Juliet's heart being dead because Tybalt is dead and she loved him. Lady Capulet interpreted this quote as Juliet wanting to hold Romeo's dead body because he killed Tybalt. There are no other quotes that can be interpreted differently.

Responding to Gary Portway:

I think the play will have a big ending. I think this because of the beginning when it says "the fearful passage of their death-marked love". This shows that Romeo and Juliet will die for their love.

Responding to Ian Mallor:

Juliet greatly foreshadows Romeo's death. She does this when she says "meethinks i see thee, now thou art so low, as one dead in the bottom of a tomb". This foreshadows that Juliet will look down on Romeo as he is dead in his tomb.

Benvolio litterally has the prefix of the word "good", using context clues and the personal from Romeo's stand point you would guess Benvolio is somehow associated with Romeo. Tybalt on the other hand (being said in the same question with foil) must mean Tybalt is the opposite of Benvolio which is vile and agaisnt Romeo. Benvolio affects Romeo by giving him advice and leading him until a peaceful resloution with his girl problems, Tybalt on the other hand wants to duel (end up killing probably) Romeo because of his hatred towards him, Romeo later in the book wants to resolve this hatred but ends up contridicting himself and killing Tybalt.

In response to Caisey C -

Seeing how Shakespeare is remebered for his "start" of using a trend of cliches, you cannot name many previous ones before his stories because most of them were altered orally as time progressed or they werent documented anywhere.

In response to my own question.

I personally think that the answer to my question is located right in the title. "The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet". Tragedy means a less progressed anticipation of an ending or an ending where the plot seems to fall negitively on the protagonist. Thus, the story will end with no questions to remain afterwords.

In response to Kim S -

Romeo and Juliet show they're love through Shakespeares rich diologue which is hard to interpret without being knowledgeable about "ol' english". With that being said, mainly the two just speak in tounge-tied riddles of how they feel for one another and all it is today (no pun relating to our generations stupidty) is a simplier form so everybody can understand it, since everybody can understand it - more and more cliches are being driven from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.

In Response to Peter L -

In this book, there is a neutral time divided up between Romeo and Juliet thus people would think they're is no protagonist and antagonist. Well no, an antagonist is somebody who works agaisnt the protagonist (their can be more than one so its Romeo AND Juliet) and that is majority of the line of the Capulets and Montagues.

In response to Brianne -

Well, seeing how we are reading a hard to understand, tideuous novel I would assume the imagery of such would be quite to the extent of "lacking". Add that to the fact how we dont get to "see" Paris as many others who have seen the play do, and we pretty much have an undecided character. With that being said I cant explain Paris and his thoughts because I cant understand them. However, I can understand Romeo's and those are plain and simple - "He cares for Juliet more than anything ekse".

In response to Ian M -

I would not say this is much foreshadowing but in In Act 3, Scene 5, lines 54-57 -Juliet states: "O God, I have an ill-divining soul! Methinks I see thee, now thou art so low, as one dead in the bottom of a tomb. Either my eyesight fails thou lookest pale." This is ignored by most due to the fact that the groundlings could not understand this and the high-classed auidance would only see this as a rich dialogue scene, this were only to be recognized towards the end of the book when Romeo dies and it would be looken back upon as "Wow, Romeo pretty much predicted his own death!" You cant "foreshadow" this without knowing the ending...

In response to Brianna R -

In short-term chronological order. Mercutio and Benvolio run into Tybalt on the same street. they begin to "talk smack" about one-amongst's according "houses" until Romeo comes and tells Tybalt he does not want a fight for he is a brother and he loves him, Tybalt seeing this a mockery, begins to amp up Mercutio and they duel until Romeo "steps in the middle and stops the fight" until Tybalt finds an oppurtunity to strike and kills Mercutio, then Mercutio curses both houses for such a fowl dispute and Romeo kills Tybalt.

In response to Tyler D -

The best quot from the story to describe Romeo's prospective of predestination is at its best when Romeo states: "The game was ne'er so fair, and I am done." Which technically means, "I dont care what happens, I could go either way at this point" but it could mean "Whatever the star's have in store for me - must be the right thing to happen to me".

In response to Anthony B -

I think Shakespeare built Mercutio up as the inteligent man who happened to be caught in such a normal way of life until a conflict unresolved with his death, at that point he realised "you know this isnt worth it anymore with such a big wound in my side". This opinion of Mercutio best resembles the afflication towards all the characters and how the death of 1 or 2 main characters *ahem* would change perhaps the surrounding character's opinions towards one another *ahem*.

The conflict between Tybalt and Mercrutio has to do with Romeo. Mercrutio is Romeos best friend and Tybalt is Juliets cousin. Tybalt hates Romeo because there is a long fued between the two families. But Romeo wants to like Tybalt because he is married to his cousin. Romeo tries being friends with Tybalt but can not tell him why because the marriage between him and Juliet were secret. Tybalt believes that Romeo is mocking him and then starts to dislike Romeo even more. Mercrutio likes Romeo and does not like Tybalt because he is trying to stir things up with Romeo by asking him to duel. Tybalt does not like Mercrutio beacause he tries to take Romeos place in the duel. Tybalt and Mercrutio fight in the duel and Tybalt kills Mercrutio. Then with rage Romeo kills Tybalt. Then later on in the story Romeo drinks poison and dies kissing Juliet.

When Romeo is talking to Tybalt at the beginning of the fight he is trying to tell Tybalt lets be friends. He is trying to say i do not want to fight lets just settle this. But, Tybalt thinks that Romeo is mocking him by saying you will probably lose and that i hate you. This leads to Mercrutios death because then Tybalt turns his anger on Mercrutio. Tybalt takes a cheap shot on Mercrutio and stabs him and he dies. Then that leads to Tybalts death because Romeo is filled with grief and anger so he stabs and kills Tybalt.

Friar Lawerence and Nurse are a lot like parental figures to Romeo and Juliet, and they always go to there older mentors for advice, and other things. Its almost like they are Romeo and Juliets parents in this, because you dont hear as much about the parents in the story.

In response to Brian Acker, Shakespeare uses foreshadowing several times in the story to get the reader or the audience more involved in the story/play. The main reason is in the first scene between the montagues and the capulets when the 1st confortation, it foreshadows to what happens in Act 3 scene 1, as Mercutio is killed by Tybalt out on the streets, as romeo tried to prevent it, but it was too late

In response to KolinC's question i think that all the situations getting added on to Romeos and Juliets secret marriage will lead to a devistating ending, as Romeo getting banished, and the capulets wanting Juliet to marry paris, this is too much for one relationship to handle, no matter how much love there is, with the rival families being added on to all the problems named already, is obviously foreshadowing to a horrible ending to a love story

Shakespeare uses the most romantic dialouge anyone can think of, always using metaphors to make it even more romantic, compared to todays young love, shakespeare is much more sophisticated than todays day. Todays "young love" i believe does not exist, as you never hear words other than "hot" "sexii" or "spicy" you never hear a comparision to anything romantic, or even hear words such as beautiful, cute, attractive as much as you used too

The scene where Romeo & Juliet get married is a very simple, quick scene. shakespeare doesent go through a long romantic marriage ceremony becuase he does not want to bore some of the crowd, as he always tried to please as many as possible during his plays

in response to Cassiescanlons question
Shakespeare portrays mercutio in his dying moments by saying a quote almost to lighten up the situation, by cracking a smart remark, it is ironic because most people would be sad to the fact that they are dying and will not expierience certain things in life

in response to MichelleD's question
As mercutio was dying, Romeo would of been feeling if any of us was about to lose a best friend, youd feel the sorrow, the sadness, almost as if it was your own fault. Losing a best friend is like losing a family member, its the worst feeling you could ever feel, and its horrible that everyone must eventually go through it in some part of there life. Romeo did what he did to Tybalt because it was almost a revenge for mercutio, as if Tybalt was to kill Mercutio, then Tybalt deserved to die as well

I think that love at first sight may exist. Some people can think that have found love when the next day they find someone else though. Like Romeo did; he thought he was in love with Rosaline, when he mourned over her and then fell in love with Juliet. So hypothetically it may exist, but I think it does exist at certain times.

2) In response to Lindsay Garrone.
I see in Romeo and Juliet’s relationship being even more difficult then it was. Because Romeo killed his own family member in a sense. Tybalt was related to Juliet even if he was a blood thirsty creep. He was family and the parents and other family members are not going to be happy about this. They will not forget or forgive him.

3) In response to Cam Hale.
The quote “But soft, what light through yonder window breaks? It is the East and Juliet is the sun." Is referring Juliet to the light of the sun. Today it means that he thinks that nothing in the world is more beautiful then Juliet.

4) In response to Brian Acker.
Shakespeare uses foreshadowing in the use of the play Romeo and Juliet by telling them in the chorus what is going to happen. He tells them that they are going to die and what the stories about.

5) In response to Taryn K.
Juliet’s relationship with the nurse is kind. She is the one who took care of her and pretty much raised her since she was born. Romeo’s relationship with Friar Lawrence is that he trusts him, and goes to him when he needs help. Juliet does the same thing with the nurse. They are both older figures in which they can look up to. They are different because Friar Lawrence is letting them get married because he thinks the feuds will stop. And the Nurse is doing it because she cares about Juliet and wants the best for her.

6) In response to Kolin C.
Well seeing that Romeo has been banished from the town and Juliet is being forced to marry Paris, it is of course going to be difficult for them to be together. It is going to bring them lots of more troubles. And we no this because of the chorus, which says that they are going to die. So death is a big thing in this play because even though they want to be together they really can because it wasn’t meant to be by the stars. And their families just wont hear of it.

7) In response to Kim Schubert.
Shakespeare’s dialogue between Juliet and Romeos affection towards one another is comparison. He likes to have Romeo compare Juliet to nature saying beautiful and lovely things to her like she’s more beautiful then the sun. And she responds by saying something touching either in a good way or a whatever way. They care for one another, everyone can see it. Young couples love today is pretty much people think they are in love, when they don’t really get to the point of having someone stand outside your window and say lovely things to you. We just call each other up instead. Young couples who are older then us may find that they have found their significant other, but she is younger then us and he is older than us and they think they are in love. Many people do that now a days. So the story and now are pretty much the same.

8) In response to Gary Portway.
I think Shakespeare will leave Romeo and Juliet with a big ending. I don’t think there is going to be a cliff-hanger because the beginning states that they will die. So you cant really keep telling a story when the two main characters are dead and the whole play was written waiting for them to die.

9) In response to Kevin Rogers.
I think Mercutio said that line because he was upset that Romeo got in his way and had to die for it. He hopes that something bad will happen to both of their households. Because Romeo got in his way and Tybalt killed him, so he cursed both houses. I think Romeo is going to feel like the lousiest person on the face of the earth. Because he was the one to blame for having his friend die. He is also going to be upset that he cursed him, because people believed in that sort of thing back then and took it seriously.

10) In response to Nick S.
Today fighting is more guns and stuff and fists occasionally. But back then it was more physical because they had armor and swords. So they could get closer to one another, whereas today people can get like 100 feet from a person and kill them. We are more combat then back then.
