G Block: Friday Classwork

Happy Friday, G Block. Your responses to the following directives are due by the end of class today (as a comment to this post).

1. Click here to visit a site that hosts a Learning Style Test. Take the test, honestly and carefully, and analyze the results (the colorful graph). Compose a paragraph that communicates the results (strengths, weaknessses, etc.) and your feelings regarding their accuracy and/or inaccuracy.

2. Visit Edline and open the documant named "Paragraph Revision." Correct the paragraph's grammar, punctuation, spelling, and formatting.

I am more intrapersonal smart than anything else.my higher scores are in visual, interpersonal and naturalistic. I scored low in kinaesthetic, linguistic, logical and music.I feel that the results are pretty accurate.

In the Learning style test I got the following results: I got 25 in music smarts, I got 22 in picture smart, 20 in nature smart, 21 in body smart and word smart, I got 17 in number smart, 15 in people smart, and lastly 20 in myself smart. Overall I agree with it, like my people smart, I could definately work on it.

In the Learning Style Test, the results show that my greatest strengths is Interpersonal(people smart), my second greatest strengths all equal is Linguistic(word smart), Musical(music smart)and Naturalistic(nature smart. Then there is Logical(number smart),Intrapersonal (Myself smart) and Kineasthetic(body smart)coming into close strengths. As for my weakness, is only Visual/spatial (picture smart).

I agree with the graph. I feel that I am as naturalistic smart as I am interpersonal, intrapersonal and body smart. I feel like I am little more logical smart then the graph said. On the other hand, I feel like I am less music smart. I think am as visually smart as the graph gave me.

The strengths
1.Musical Smart
2.People Smart
3.Number Smart
4.Picture Smart
5.Nature Smart

The weaknesses
1.Body Smart
2.Word Smart
3.Myself Smart

I agree with what the survey is saying except myself smart. I am very musical smart, I play the piano.

Unknown said...

In the graph, it was almost all wrong. I am defiantly not linguistic smart; I am not good at spelling or using a high vocabulary when I speak. Kaitlin says “Alex talks like Lennie from Of Mice And Men.” I believe that I am body smart, which means that I use my hands to learn, and I also use visuals when I learn, or need to look at something first. Also, I think that I am number smart though, even though the graph said I was not. I know I am not musical smart and I do not know nature that well.

I walk in to English class and Mr. Kefor gives me this piece of paper.
I didn’t know what to do with it then he says, "This paragraph has many mistakes. Your job is to find and correct them.” I sit in my chair and fix the sentences, and there were a lot. I was wondering how is it that an English teacher could makes so many mistakes? Did this guy go to school or did they hire him off the street? All I know is it was one of the worst pieces of literature I ever did see. First I found some obvious spelling errors. Then I founds some major; mechanical errors too. Some off the sentences was so messed up that I didn’t know where to begin. After a while it starts giving me a headache, I had never seen anything like this before! It was as if my teacher had been raised by a pack of wild animals! So as I am doing my work and I see out of the corner of my eye a shadow lurking behind me. So I look up, and there he is, Mr. Kefor staring right at me, eyes bugging out of his head. I say, “Why are you staring at me like that?” and he says “Are you working hard or hardly working?” I go back to work.

My feelings towards the learning styles test are accurate. My weaknesses were being music smart, and word smart. My strengths were body smart, nature smart, picture smart, myself smart, people smart, and number smart. I feel that some of what the graph said was inaccurate, but it was mostly accurate. The graph said that I was weak in word smart but I feel that I am word smart and I know a lot of powerful words. The weakest one I had out of all of them was music smart, and it is true because I don’t know that much about music. These are my strengths and weaknesses that were shown on my graph.

Kasara Maloney said...

After taking the learning style test, I have viewed my results and can't say whether I agree or disagree with them. I disagree with the Linguistic smarts result. I do think I have a much higher word smart then I was given by the test. I believe my music smart, being most of my intellect according to graph, was correct with the level of intelligence I obtain in music. I don't believe that the test can decipher my kinesthetic intellect based off of the questions provided, so I believe that the information provided through the graph in that section was inaccurate. My naturalistic intellect was accurate, saying I know some things about Nature. The graph said that I had a low logical intellect, which I agree with. I believe my visual intellect was an iffy result. I don't entirely disagree, it is mostly accurate, but I do think it should've been a little bit higher. I believe my interpersonal intellect was inaccurate, and I think that I know myself better than anyone else knows me. The graph had said that "myself smart" as it's called, was two spaces below being filled on the graph. I agree with my social skills being were accurate and that I am good with people. Overall I'm indecisive on whether the graph was accurate because I think that it was partially correct.

The results I got from the learning style test was very different than I thought it was going to be but I feel like its an okay thing. The results I have are that I'm in order from the highest to lowest are that I am interpersonal(people smart), intrapersonal(myself smart), linguistic(word smart), kinaesthetic(body smart), musical(music smart), naturalistic(nature smart), logical(number smart), and finally visual/spatial(picture smart). I feel this is close to what I really am but not completely true. I think if my friends saw this they wouldn't know if it's true or not. A computer will never completely know me because everyone is different from each other.

My feelings against the learning style test are surprising. I didn’t think I would do a good job because I when I think about the areas, I think differently. After taking this test it showed me what my weaknesses and strengths are of learning. I never knew that I was more Interpersonal smart than Intrapersonal smart. My top three strength of the learning style test were Kinaesthetic smart, Logical smart, and Interpersonal smart. My top three weaknesses are Linguistic smart, Musical smart, and intrapersonal smart. I never thought as myself to be like this after I took the learning style test.

Emily Eberle said...

My feelings about this learning style test are impressed. I am impressed because I did not think I would do as well as I did in some areas. This test showed my strengths and weaknesses in learning. My top strengths are Interpersonal smart, Intrapersonal, Naturalistic, and Kinaesthetic. My biggest weakness is Linguistic. I never knew this about myself until taking this test.

Tyreque Cabrer: Im pretty confident that the results from the test are correct. My higher scores were in musical, interpersonal, and intrapersonal. My lower scores were logical, naturalistic, visual/spatial, kinaesthetic, and linguistic. These results seem correct to me

My Strengths Are:
Logical: number smart
Interpersonal: people smart
Kinesthetic: Body smart
Musical: Music smart

My weaknesses are:
Naturalistic: Nature smart
Visual/Spatial: Picture smart
Linguistic: Word smart
Intrapersonal: Myself smart

My strengths are stronger in personal and social skills than intrapersonal skills. I’m more comfortable with numbers than with words. I’m better with people than myself because I talk more about people’s problems than my own.
