I think I'm going to do "devotion" for my concept because people view devotion in so many different ways.

Im considering dreams and or memories for my concept folio

I’ve chosen the concept of Fantasy. Fantasy is, as a whole is broad, and I feel as though I’ll be able to find pieces of art and literature that pertain to each other and make my concept easy and interesting to do. I already have a couple pictures/ paintings on my blog and even a photo of the artist, Odd Nerdrum painting another masterpiece.

I'm very undecisive but a few of my ideas include imagination, determination, and peace, love, and happiness. I'm leaning towards the determination because I think I can get more out of it rather than the others. It is also a broad subject and I can connect it to many things. I just also like the idea of being determined to accomplish something nobody thought you could.

I have flipped back and forth among many topics lately. Nothing seems to peak my interest long enough for me to write about it all year. The one that does keep coming to mind is "escape".

Dom! That is quite an original idea and I think you will be able to do a lot with it. I can't wait to see how it comes out!!!! =)

I think i might want to do....passion for my concept portfolio

I'm considering to do my concept on either Surprise or Perception, but I would like to incorporate Michael Hussar's artwork to fit my concept. Here's his website.

Any ideas to help?

I don't know who's concept it is, but I think that dreams would be a different and intersting concept because they're very private but everyone has them.

Nicole N.,

I think dance would be a really intersting concept to explore; it means different things to many different people. It will be really intersting to see how you present the different ideas of dance. Good luck!

Megan, you are truly brilliant! Passion should be a fun concept to explore because of it is such a proud subject. You can relate it to music, sports, and several different hobbies! Have fun with it!

The concept that I have selected is ANIME, or japanese animation. Unbeknownst to most, the japanese cartoon industry and business is a very prophitable and entertaining/self-entertaining practice and today still thrills men and women of all ages.

Nicole W. i think that the concept you chose was very interesting and seems hard to do. I really want to see it when you finish.

Nicole W.,

Devotion is a very diverse concept and it can be a varied definition for almost everyone. Devotion seems to be the type of concept that is broad enough to incorporate many different things but precise enough to actually mean something. Good choice, I can't wait to see how it comes out.

Taylor M. said...

I am not sure whose concept is dreams, but it is unique and it would a really interesting thing to explore. The meanings behind them, the reasons we dream and how different people react to them would be so awesome to explore. That sounds like it will be a great topic to explore.

J Lant all of your ideas are good and you should be determined and pick one that you like most.

Anonymous said...

Pucci, I think that your idea of doing Euphoria is an excellent idea because it is the story of my life. You would probably have a very fun time creating narratives and stories and stuff about it. Good luck if you choose this for your concept portfolio!

Nicole N. said...

Heather, I think that creativity would be a great concept because it's vast but there are so many different options for it. Good luck!

I think i want to do "reality" for my concept

Jess L. said...

Hanlon, I think the anime idea is very unique and should be interesting but I was wondering if you have any back up ideas? Anime does not seem like it would be very broad or relate to many other things but I wish you good luck anyways!

Meg, I like that your choosing passion, red would be a good color for your concept.

I really have no idea what I should do for my concept. I feel like nothing is going to keep my interest for long. Taylor I really like your idea of escape though. I think that is something a lot of teenagers living in Norton can relate to.

Meg,

Passion is a really great concept. People are passionate about many different things and they show that passion in many different ways. It is a deep enough concept to really delve into. Good choice, good luck!

Heather, Creativity is a very big concept. You could do a lot with it. I am excited to see how it all works out.

Jess L... I think that peace, love and happiness all kind of fit together...

I've already changed my mind, hahaha.
I think I'm going to do my concept on perfection, because people have many different views and perceptions of it. I'll need to really think about it.

-Sara

I don’t really know what I want to do yet, but I was thing of reincarnation or the contrast of heaven and hell for my concept.

Nicole N. said...

Sara, I like the idea of perception for a concept, it seems like it would be a very felxible concept. After looking at Hussar I'm not entirely sure how you could incorporate him but good luck none the less!

Anonymous said...

Heather... Creativity seems like it would be A LOT of work!

Anonymous said...

Jess, I think that all of your ideas are pretty good. Imagination would be a very easy concept to write about and it could probably keep the readers attention because Imagination could be pretty much be about anything. Peace, Love, and Happiness is also a good topic but it might not be as exciting to read about as imagination.

I was thinking about doing art or true art but not sure how to make it into a workable concept. I was going to put it into a question form like "What is Art" other title ideas would be of help.

Anonymous said...

Thanks Matt! That is what I was thinking. I can't think of many narratives that I could make out of it though but I'm browsing pictures now to see what I get out of each one.

Nicole W.,
In my opinion, devotion is a powerful concept. Not only that, but there are SO many books you can relate devotion to: Ethan Frome, A Tale of Two Cities, Romeo and Juliet, etc. Im looking forward to seeing how your port-folio fairs.

Taylor, I like your idea. It’s deep. You could make this concept really good. It is unique and keeps my interest. I hope every goes well.

Kim, I think your idea of doing fantasy is a good one. It would probably catch a lot of readers’ attention because fantasy is something that a lot of people enjoy. Fantasy would also be very easy to write about and it might be very fun to write about. GOOD LUCK! =]

Sara,
I think that surprise would be very hard to do but it interests me and i would love to see it.

J/K Mr. keefdawg suggested "Alternate reality" almost like dreams... or illusion vs. reality

its deep

To Matt,
Reality. Now THAT'S a tough one. Are you sure? That very concept has yet to be comprehended by the most brilliant of minds, but the fact that you chose it is a real attention-grabber. Just because it's 3-D and we can touch it, taste it, etc, does that REALLY make it reality? I really think you have an excellent choice and I look forward to viewing it come presentation time.
-Nicholas Hanlon

To Zacc,
Art, or True Art doesn't really exist. Do you know why? Because art is just like expressing your own soul into a solid picture, and you know very well that no two souls are one and the same, not even conjoined twins!I await viewing your completed concept.Good luck!
-Nicholas Hanlon

Who ever came up with the concept of dreams, I like your idea. You could even go in to researching what some dreams means. Love the concept.

Anonymous said...

Matt! I think you change to Alternate Reality is a good idea! It will be much easier since a lot of artists take their masterpieces beyond reality. I can't wait to see it!

-Jess L.

Nicole N. said...

Zacc! I think that "What is Art?" is a good title and really good concept. People's ideas of art are so vastly different so seeing one person's particular point of view would be uber cool. Good Luck!

Nicole W,

Devotion sounds like a fun concept to do... definitely a choice you can keep interest in for a long time

Someone help me! I am stuck between determination and the idea of peace, love and happiness. I've found good pictures for both!! Tell me what you think.

-Jess L.

Tess R. said...

I've decided that my concept is going to be light vs. darkness. Both can depict many different things, and the contrast between them can be very moving. I'm hoping that it will work out, if not then I'm not sure what I'll switch to.

Anonymous said...

Comment for Meg, I like your choice for you concept, but I've heard of 3 other students already choosing that exact one. May I suggest a synonym such as; affection. That way your not limited to just passion between two people but the affection between a person and an object, or a person and an animal. For example I wanted to do the concept of 'vanity', but Jackie K. had already done it. So what I was going to do was just find a synonym of it so the concept didn't seem played out to Kefor.((turns out I picked a completely different concept)) Just a thought, it's still a great concept! Good Luck!

Nick Hanlon,
Anime is a really good concept. I'm doing fantasy and I know I'll be able to use characters such as Allen and Lenalee* from "D.Gray-Man" and other characters when I go to Anime Boston. I probably would have picked that concept, but I didn't want to be held back by just Japanese art. But good luck with what your doing, It should be really fun!

Fantasy, eh? Intriguing...very much so. I myself have always been infinitly fascinated by the "The untold worlds that do not really exist". That's a quote from one of my many novels. The very concept of fantasy however, has a different meaning to everyone. Considering the fact that you too are into ANIME as I am, I await in suspense to see just how your mind portrays Fantasy!

I've done some thinking, and am considering changing my concept to hope. The other day I was arguing with my boyfriend (as usual), and starting talking with him about hope. After I was finished, I felt sort of inspired, and thought that hope is a very powerful thing. Hope can cling on to people for years, even an entire life time. My previous concept was light/darkness. Please tell me which you think I should persue. Thank you!

Nicole W. said...

Thank you for the ideas Nick! I didn't even think about relating my concept to books we have read in class. That's a great idea. I really think that Dom's concept of revolution is going to be difficult, but he can definitly pull it off with some strong determination.

I also liked the "what is art?" concept very much. People view art as all different things, whether it be an abstract sculpture to a beautiful scenery painting. It is definitly something I would be interested in seeing.
Good luck everyone!
